Since my last post about Charles making Erik very sad by dying on him got reblogged faster than almost anything else I’ve ever posted, here, have it happening lots and lots of times. Credit for some of these goes to ishtar79’s lovely Charles/Erik posts here. Damn it, Charles, stop that.

He didn’t die in the third and fifth scene though (although he was really, really close). Of course it doesn’t change the meaning of those scenes: they all show Charles and Erik’s friendship, their closeness and the strength of the bond between them. Take a look for example at that fifth picture: in this scene Xavier is dying and the only way of saving him is mixing his power with Erik’s (that’s the moment you can see here: Erik’s touching unconscious Charles to strengthen his brain waves). And Beast warns Magneto that if the process fails he could die too (his brain would shut down). And Erik, knowing that, still decides to help Charles (in spite of the fact that he’s not a telepath and his mind would be overhelmed and trapped - and destroyed - so easily).

And in the third scene - here you can see another side of Erik’s devotion: he promises to completely change his life and become the teacher for Charles’ students. And if you look at the second image - it comes from the reality where he spends literally his whole adult life trying to fulfill his friend’s wish. And keeps missing and remembering him, visits his old house and NAMES HIS ONLY SON CHARLES. Charles Lehnsherr *shakes her head*
